A friend posted this article on facebook today and it got me fired up, as usual. First of all "the majority of plus size models on agency boards are between a size 6 and 14." WTF? Most stores start their plus size clothing at 14 or 16. I mean obviously every knows that there's a huge disconnect between the average woman and fashion models, but considering a size 6 "plus size" is messed up.
Also when I read that article I looked at the comments on the bottom and saw someone had posted that we shouldn't forget about the women who try as they might to gain weight, they just can't. No matter how much they eat they just can't seem to gain a pound. POOOOOOR YOOOOUUU!!!! I'm so sure that when people see you in your skinny jeans and giant sunglasses they play a little violin for your sad sad case. I'm sure when people see you in line at a fast food restaurant in the mall food court they look at your ass and giggle and whisper to their friends. I'm sure you have an awful time shopping for clothing that fits you and doesn't make you look huge. I'm sure when fat chicks see you tearing up some McDonald's they're thinking, "that poor thing can't gain a pound" instead of "lucky bitch." I'm not saying that people should feel sorry for overweight people, but don't sit there and tell me that you've got it so bad being skinny.
Anyways, there's my rant for the day. :)
That's the link to the article at the top. I don't know why it didn't create a hyperlink.
